Project Team

One of the key challenges in implementing Alberta’s Water for Life strategy is aligning policy, legislation, and resources.

To address this issue, the Alberta Water Council created the Water Policy Issues and Gaps Project Team in May 2006 to identify and prioritize water policy issues and gaps relating to Alberta’s water management system.  This work supported the Council’s goal of ensuring that Alberta has an effective, adaptive water management system to achieve the three goals of the Water for Life strategy. The team’s final report was approved in November 2007.

The final report posted here represents the Project Team’s advice concerning provincial-scale water policy issues and gaps to the Alberta Water Council.  The Council, in turn, uses the report to inform its strategic planning initiatives.
