Mission

The Alberta Water Council is a stakeholder partnership that provides leadership, expertise and advocacy, to engage and empower individuals, organizations, business and governments to achieve the outcomes of the Water for Life strategy.

Values

The Alberta Water Council, individually and collectively, is guided in its activities by a desire to be:

• Collaborative:  The AWC will work with individuals, organizations, businesses and governments to build agreement.
• Fair:  The AWC will not be biased toward any individual, organization, business or government.
• Innovative:  The AWC will bring together expertise and experience to find the best solutions to provincial water management issues.
• Respectful: The AWC will value all ideas and attitudes.
• Timely:  The AWC will respond to issues in a timely fashion.
• Transparent:  The AWC will be visible and accessible with established processes to bring issues forward and to communicate AWC activities.
• Trustworthy:  The AWC will earn public trust as an independent advisory body to government, stakeholders and the public, supported by credible data and information.
